January is a calm month when it comes to events and people are slowly getting back to work after holidays. However, most of the meetup organizers are already back to town. Let’s see what they offer!
We’ve published a list of meetups in Geneva in October a bit earlier than we usually do because so many workshops and hackathons will take place that month that you should know about them as early as possible to get your spot. Regular meetup groups are also active, so check what they’ve prepared for October!
The biggest joint event in Geneva this year will take place on 29 August at 18.30 at FlexOffice. Ten meetup organizers will meet together and they invite all their members to have a drink, chat, network, say goodbye to the summer and hello to the new meetup season.
In August, the majority of meetups take a well-deserved break. However, some of the organizers and groups still meet regularly. Come and meet them if you’re in Geneva.
Although in summer most of the meetup organizers are taking a break, it doesn’t mean that all tech-related meetups in Geneva are put on hold. Some of the groups continue to meet in July and August as well, some invite their members for informal and less structured gatherings, others will meet on a boat. On 9 July there will be a special event for tech and startup community in Geneva: a meetup on a boat! Not only its location is quite unusual (although, we live by the lake, so is it really?) but it’s a rare occasion when both tech entrepreneurs and investors can grab a drink and network in relaxing atmosphere. Digital Strategy & UX has become one of the biggest (if not the biggest) English-speaking meetup in town, with almost 1800 members on Meetup.com. The group owners, Péter Horváth and Jessie Anton, agreed to talk about their experience and to kick off the series of interviews with meetup organizers.
